In the Maritime Security sector, Ostar Christopher holds the certifications of Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO), Chief Security Officer (CSO), and Ship Security Officer (SSO). Ostar is a Member of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja (MNARC).<\/p>\n
During a fifteen year stint in the State Security Service (SSS), Ostar attended courses in Security Management, Operations, Surveillance, Intelligence, and Protective Operations. He went through the whole gamut of security: Intelligence, Operations, Surveillance, Threat Analysis\/Assessment, VIP Protection, and Security\/Logistics Management. He was Chief Protective Security Detail\/ Chief Security Officer to a number of protected dignitaries including a Head of State and a Senate President during this period. Before finally exiting from service, Ostar was Principal Staff Officer (PSO) in the VIP Protection Directorate, coordinating the functions of protective Security Details attached to national and visiting protected dignitaries.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ostar Christopher voluntarily left service in 2003 to go into Industrial Security as a Consultant. He was CEO of Classified Security Ltd, a top Security consultancy firm between 2003 and 2004. He set up and supervised the Corporate Security functions for Vmobile Nigeria (now Airtel), a telecommunications company, between 2004 and 2008. He later set up and supervised the Security and HSE functions for EMTS Etisalat, another telecommunications giant in Nigeria between 2008 and 2011 before leaving for Darforp Security Limited. A member of the prestigious American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International) where he was the Nigeria Chapter 206 Foundation Committee Representative for 2010. Ostar Christopher is a Certified Protection Professional, Board-certified by ASIS International, a qualification that comes with passing a tasking examination in Security Management, Emergency Procedures, Investigations, Legal Aspects of Security, Personnel Security, Physical Security, and Information Security. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute for Industrial Security (FNIIS), a Fellow of the International Institute of Professional Security (FIIPS), Winner of the \u2018Best Security Manager, Telecommunications\u2019 Award for 2009, and the People and Events magazine Award for Professional Excellence for 2009. He is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the Anti-Terrorism Accreditation Board(ATAB), and the London Metropolitan Branch of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). Ostar Christopher consults for a number of blue chip companies.<\/p>\n
Dr. Ostar Christopher completed a PhD (International Relations) in 2023 and another PhD (Counter-Terrorism) in 2024. He has served as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Security to the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief (Dr) Willie Obiano for both tenures 2014-2022, and as\u00a0the CEO\/Executive Secretary, Anambra Security Trust Fund, 2014-2019.<\/p>\n
